<br />. <br /> <br />- 29 - <br /> <br />PROJECT INSTALLATION <br /> <br />It will be the primary responsibility of the sponsors, assisted <br />by the Work Unit Conservationist together with the local representatives <br />of the State and' Federal land-administering agencies, to accomplish the <br />iristallation of land treatment and structural measures during the <br />5-year installation period as programmed and estimated in the fiscal <br />year obligation. These agencies as.sisted in the preparation of this <br />Plan and concur in the treatment measures proposed for the lands under <br />their administration. <br /> <br />During the project installation period, staff adjustments and <br />assignments will be made promptly to provide technical assistance for <br />accelerated land treatment and soil surveys in accordance with the <br />Work Plan. Appropriate specialists will provide technical assistance <br />and supervision on a timely basis. A definite and workable system for <br />contacting and assisting watershed landowners will be developed and <br />consistently followed, and local records and time and progress reports <br />will be kept so that local personnel and their supervisors will know <br />the status of inputs and accomplishments at all times. An annual <br />review of accomplishments will be made and neede4 action taken to <br />assure continued progress toward the completion of this phase of the <br />project. <br /> <br />The sponsors will secure the maximum contribution possible from <br />the County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service <br />Committees, Agricultural Extension Service, Farmers Home Administration, <br />and other State and local agencies and organizations, especially those <br />who participated in the Work Plan development; A planned information <br />program will be developed and carried out following guidelines in the <br />Watershed Protection Handbook. <br /> <br />Land Treatment Measures <br /> <br />_The land treatment measures on privately-owned irrigated lands <br />."and on the participating lateral systems itemized in Table 1 will be <br />applied by the "landowners or groups of landowners involved. These <br />measures will be installed by landowners through the 5-year project <br />period in cooperation with the Pine River Soil Conservation District, . <br />with cost-sharing by Agricultural Conservation Program funds. <br />Accelerated technical assistance will speed up the planning and <br />application rates considerably over the rate of the past years. <br /> <br />Land treatment measures on range and forested land of private, <br />National Forest, and Indian ownership (itemized in Table 1) will be <br />
