<br />- 23 - <br /> <br />The canal will be shaped and resectioned along 5.3 miles of <br />the North Branch of the Pine River Canal.' This will require the <br />resetting of 12 Parshall flumes and the extending of 16 headgate <br />pipes. <br /> <br />The estimated installation cost for the 129 rehabilitation <br />structures and improvements in Group C is $93,692. <br /> <br />It is estimated that the Pine River Canal rehabilitation <br />program will improve the project efficiency from 52 percent to 54 <br />percent, an estimated saving of 1,200 acre-feet of water annually, <br />by reduction of structural losses. <br /> <br />Total estimated cost of rehabilitation of Groups A, B, and C <br />is $203,861. Group A ($27,737) will be included as appurtenances <br />to the floodwater-retarding structures PR-l and PR-2. <br /> <br />EXPLANATION OF INSTALLATION COSTS <br /> <br />Project installation cost for land treatment and structural <br />measures are shown in Table 1. Measures outlined in this Plan <br />are to be installed during a 5-year period.- <br /> <br />Land Treatment Measures <br /> <br />Funds for the accelerated application of land treatment on <br />privately-owned land will be furnished by the landowners ($212,813). <br />Most of these measures are eligible for cost-sharing under the <br />Agricultural Conservation Program. <br /> <br />Technical assistance for the planning .and application of land <br />treatment measures will be provided by Soil Conservation Service <br />technicians assisting the Pine River Soil Conservation District <br />($24,000). Accelerated technical assistance will be $39,200. <br /> <br />Funds for accelerated technical assistance for fire control <br />intensification measures on the privately-owned range and forest <br />lands will be furnished by the Colorado State Forest Service funds <br />($300) and P. L. 566 funds ($300). Funds for equipment for fire <br />control on these lands will consist of Colorado State Forest <br />Service ($2,300) and P. L. 566 ($2,300). <br />
