<br /> <br />- 22 - <br /> <br />Structure No. 48 is a recently constructed inverted siphon <br />that is to have a trashrack constructed at its inlet. <br /> <br />Inverted siphon No. 52 will replace a rectangular wooden <br />f1 ume . <br /> <br />The wooden division structure No. 53 at the end of the South <br />Branch of the Pine. River Canal will be replaced with a concrete <br />check and headgate structure. <br /> <br />The estimated installation cost of the eighteen structures in <br />Group B is $82,432. <br /> <br />(Group C) Group C consists of the major structures on the <br />North Branch of the Pine River Canal, resectioning of a portion of <br />the North Branch of the Pine River Canal, and installation of <br />needed headgates and Parshall flumes for the entire Pine River <br />Canal. <br /> <br />Concrete chute No. 27 replaces eroded wooden drop structures <br />No. 26, Z7, and 28. <br /> <br />Waste structure No. 29 will be installed just upstream from <br />inverted siphon No. 29 which has been recently built. <br /> <br />Structures No. 33, 35, 36, and 37 are concrete pipe inverted <br />siphons that will replace semi-circular wooden flumes across flood <br />channels. (Refer to Figure 2, "Typical Siphon Structure".) <br /> <br />Wooden flume No. 34 will be replaced with an earthfill canal <br />section. A diversion channel will be constructed to carry natural <br />runoff from the streambed crossed by No. 34 to the inverted siphon <br />crossing No. 33. <br /> <br />Slipform concrete chute No. 38 replaces a drop structure and <br />a short section of the canal that has an uncontrolled grade drop. <br />It will have a 2 ft. bottom trapezoidal cross section.. <br /> <br />Structure No. 39 is a concrete drop replacing a wooden drop <br />near the end of the North Branch of the Pine River Canal. <br /> <br />Group C includes the replacement of 46 headgates and 46 <br />Parshall measuring flumes at farm and lateral turnouts. This <br />consists of 29 turnouts where both headgate and measuring flume <br />will be replaced, and 34 turnouts where either the headgate or <br />the flume is to be replaced. There are a total of 104 turnouts <br />along the Pine River Canal. <br />
