- 21 -

and a Parshall flume on the Pine River Canal. It will be replaced
with a concrete drop structure, so that Pine River Canal excess
flow can be dumpted into Ute Creek.

Concrete chute No. 7 replaces two large timber drop structures
just upstream from the Pine River Canal crossing over Ute Creek.

Structure No. 10 is a wooden chute structure with a concrete
stilling basin at the outlet. The wood section will be replaced
with a concrete chute attached to the existing stilling basin.

Structures No. 16 and 19 are waste structures located at
small natural drainages that provide the double purpose of an over-
flow for storm runoff inflow from above the canal and for emergency
dumping of the canal.

Two concrete Parshall measuring flumes will be added immedi-
ately below division structure No. 24. This structure divides the
water into the North and South Branches of the Pine River Canal.
No measuring devices were provided at the structure.

Concrete chute No. 41 replaces a sheet metal lined timber
chute structure which overfalls into an eroding earth basin in the
canal.

Slipform concrete chute No. 42 replaces eroded and unstable
wooden drop structure No. 42, 43, and 44. It will have a bottom
width of 4 ft., side slopes of 1.25:1, and a 2.0 ft. depth. It
will have a reinforced concrete inlet and stilling basin.

Structure No. 45 will be similar to No. 42. It replaces an
existing concrete chute which is in poor condition.

Structure No. 46 is a concrete canal division and drop structure
that will have a concrete stilling basin added on both branches to
provide erosion and grade control.

Structure No. 47 is a pipe flume over the railroad. The section
crossing the railroad cut was replaced in 1964 with metal pipe. The
remaining section is woodstave pipe on low bents. The section will
be replaced with an earthfill. A concrete inlet transition will be
constructed at the inlet of the metal pipe.

Structures No. 40, 49, and 51 are concrete canal check structures
to provide hydraulic.grade control for headgates.
