Division boxes located on some laterals will have to

be altered to allow for the delivery of less water.

Demmus Harvey has completed a detailed field inspection of

the Catlin system and reports that no modifications of any of the

Catlin features will be required as a result of the proposed

transfer. This conclusion can easily be supported by the fact

that the Catlin Canal Company presently operates when varying

amounts of water are being diverted at its headgate. If any

changes are required in the laterals, they would not be major in

nature.

4. The inverted siphon that transports the irrigation water

across Timpas creek is presently operated at capacity; therefore,

the water from the proposed transfer could not be left in the

canal without modifying the siphon to increase its capacity.

It may be that cleaning is all that would be required to

sufficiently increase the capacity; if so, cleaning would become

a periodic maintenance problem.

------- - -5~-Tfwat-er--from-the-prop6Eled-t:raiisfei'-is-left- in-tne----ca:n-al;- --

7
