Annual Report for 1990

Cardon Berry was asked to comment on the Permanent
Pool that is being considered for the Great Plains Reservoir
and the development for recreation. There is a need for more
entities to be involved, such as Prowers and Bent Counties and
water attorneys, so that everything is done legally. He then
passed out pamphlets to everyone and asked if there was any
questions. As there were none, he concluded the presentation.
Lewis Davis, Superintendent, then gave his report. There
were 5'/2 runs in 1989 and it was basically a good year for
Amity. Work is continuing on the rip-rapping and tree removal.
Canal has been widened and cleaned on one side and the other
side will be done as time permits. There was damage on #3
check at Hartman and this is now being repaired. There was
some different machinery purchased making the work easier
and more efficient. There is 4,975 a.f. in the Conservation Pooi
and 16,400 a.f. (less 35%) in winter storage and 210 a.f. in other
water. It looks like two runs available. John Martin is down in
storage and the snow pack is below average, but no up-dated
report is avaiiable, probably about 70% of average. The Lakes
are drained and outlet and inlet channels should be cleaned.
Dam on the Queens has been rip-rapped and raised two feet
and is in good shape.
The question was asked if the State of Colorado is still
responsible for the liability on the Lakes and It was affirmed
that it is.
A recess was then taken for lunch.
The meeting was reconvened and the final Roll Call was
taken.
President Paul Frank then gave his annual report. There
had been some complaints on the V2 runs and everyone was
welcome to come to the office, the Board, or the Superinten-
dent and voice their comments on any matter concerning the
Amity. Also that everyone is welcome to the Board Meetings.
He is talking to the Colorado-Kansas Representative to try to
reduce the 35% charge.

P-6
