Metropolitan Water Supply Investigations - Phase II Plan of Study
8/16/94 5:04 PM .

Page 12

b) Approach

Review records provided by FRICO regarding their past recharge events in
Beebe Draw,

Evaluate the recharge events and evaluate procedures,

Evaluate the use of wells, recharge pits and existing ditches as alternate means
of recharge,
Identify both quantitative and qualitative effects of recharge,
Evaluate water quality concerns which may pose recharge facility problems,
Evaluate the decreed recharge program with John Akolt.
Evaluate economic issues related to recharge in Beebe Draw.
. Evaluate'environmental and permitting issues,

c) Output

A memorandum report presenting compiled fmdings with accompanying
graphs, maps and tables as needed,

d) Sub-Task Leader: Robert Tafe/ski

5. Sub-Task 4e: Background Analysis of Critical Surface Water Issues

a) Purpose:

Gather relevant information and analyze at a preliminary level certain surface
water hydrologic and operational topics related to identified MWSI project
priorities. Present results of this inventory and analyses in a manner easily
understood and useable for further investigation of col1iunctive use, effluent
management and other systems integration opportunities. At a broad level
these topics include:

. Availability of surface water for conjunctive use, Includes South Platte
spill water, excess Windy Gap water, water from various levels of
increased surface reservoir drawdowns (assuming payback from
ground water systems), local capture of tributary surface water.
. Availability of effluent supply for effluent management purposes. What is
existing and future effluent supply, in terms of volume, location,
reusability, timing and water quality?
