The lands irrigated under the <br />North Sterling OUtlet Canal begin near Snyder, about halfway be- <br />tween Fort Morgan and Ster1ing, on the north side of the South <br />Platte River. <br />The headgate of the North Sterling Inlet Canal is located <br />in Water District No.1, near Hi11rose, and is, therefore, ad- <br />ministered in that Water District, although the Point of Rocks <br />Reservoir and the lands irrigated by the system all lie downstream <br />near Sterling, in Water District No. 64. <br />The Board of Directors of the North Sterling Irrigation <br />District is comprised of D. R. Pyle (President) of Iliff; Pete <br />Nein (Vice President) of Crook; and Don DalPonte of Sterling. <br />The lawyer for the District is Ben Sublette, and the Secretary- <br />manager is Alex Michel. <br />The North Sterling Irrigation District has no ownership in <br />the Prewitt Reservoir and does not participate with the Logan <br />Irrigation District or the Iliff Irrigation District in their <br />joint meetings or in their joint office. They are separate and <br />sometimes antagonistic in their use of the available water. Al- <br />though Alex Michel is also the Secretary-manager of the Iliff <br />Irrigation District, the Logan Irrigation District, and the <br />Prewitt Operating Committee, he operates their combined office <br />independently of the office of the North Sterling Irrigation <br />District. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. Prewitt Reservoir <br />The Prewitt Reservoir Inlet Canal has its headgate on the <br />south side of the South Platte River about seven miles east of <br />Hillrose.
