<br />-52- <br /> <br />canal buy and sell many Jackson Lake Reservo~r rights each year. <br /> <br />The company supposedly uses its company-held Jackson Lake rights <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />under its ditch, and does not lease them out. <br />,The upper Platte and Beaver Canal Company owns 33 "private <br />rights" in Jackson Lake Reservoir and individual farmers under <br /> <br />the upper Platte and Beaver Canal own an additional 165-1/2 <br /> <br />"private rights" for a total of 198-1/2 rights. <br /> <br />7. Deuel and Snyder Ditch <br />The Deuel and Snyder Ditch is located on the north side of <br /> <br />the South plattt River downstream from Fort Morgan. It is opera- <br /> <br />ted by the Deuel and Snyder Improvement Company, apparently a <br /> <br />mutual irrigation company. The company owns direct flow decrees <br /> <br />from the river and may also own some "reservoir" shares. Farmers <br /> <br />under the ditch also own "private rights" in various reservoirs. <br /> <br />These reservoir shares are frequently leased on a seasonal basis. <br /> <br />The ditch can be seen on theU.S.G.S. Quadrangle maps for <br /> <br />the Fort Morgan and Brush West Quadrangles. <br /> <br />8. Lower platte and Beaver Canal <br /> <br />The Lower Platte and Beaver Canal is located on the south <br /> <br />side of the river downstream from Fort Morgan and the upper Platte <br /> <br />and Beaver Canal. It is controlled by the Lower Platte and <br /> <br />Beaver Canal Company, which is, so far as we know, a mutual irri- <br /> <br />ga ti on company. <br /> <br />The Secretary of the company is Senator Frank L. "Ted" Gill <br />of Hil1rose, who keeps all of its books and records. The company <br /> <br />owns "reservoir" shares in various reservoir companies, as well <br /> <br />as direct flow rights from the river. Farmers under the system <br /> <br />WOODWARO.CLYDE.SHERARO AND ASSOCIATES <br /> <br />, <br />
