We represent the South- <br />west comer of MissDuri, which is a part of the Arkansas River <br />Basin., We are honDred to join our colleagues frau Arkansas, <br />Kansas I Oklahana and Colorado in appearing before you tDday and <br />certaihly appreciate the time afforded us to' testify collectively <br />:in suppDrt of appropriations fur proj ects along the entire reach <br />of the Arkansas' River. <br /> <br />We are making no requests for :funds for FY 86, but we certainly <br />support and urge your favorable consideration of all the projects <br />in the Arkansas River Basin as listed on the appropri;:ltion request <br />sl.lllIIlary which is beirgl're>ented today by the Chairman of the <br />Arkansas River Basin Interstate Comnittee. <br /> <br />We have testified each year for many years concerning the impor- <br />tance of water resource management projects in the Arkansas River <br />Basin and many others which are in the overall interest Df the <br />United States, and we feel that adequate appropriations for such <br />proj ects at this time will provide both inrnediate and long-range <br />economic benefits for all our citizens. <br /> <br />We are greatly appreciative of your consideration of our needs in <br />the past and solicit your favorable consideration of the requests <br />as presented here tDday, and we sincerely thank you for the oppor- <br />tunity to present them., <br /> <br />20 <br />
