Construction has been started on the Jensen Unit, located in Uin- tah County. This Unit will pro- vide water for Ashley VaHey and the area extending east of the val- ley to the Green River. It will make available about 18,QOOacre feet of water for municipal and industrial purposes in the Ashley Valley area and 4,600 acre-feet to supplement the irrigation supplies for about 4,000 acres of land in the vicinity of Jensen. Tyzack Reservoir on Big Brush Creek, the unit's major feature, will have a total capacity of 26,000 acre- feet. It will store early spring run- off and surplus flowsof Big Brush Creek for subsequent municipal and industrial use and for irriga- tion. Recreation, fish and wild- life, and flood control benefits will also be part of the project. I n operation, municipal and in- dustrial water will be lifted from Tyzack Reservoir by the Tyzack Pumping Plant to Tyzack Aque- duct and conveyed to Ashley Creek where it will be exchanged for high quality water from Ash- ley Springs. Burns Pumping Plant will pump water from Green Riv- er for irrigation in the Jensen area. Unit water will also be pro- vided to enhance the Stewart lake Water Fowl Management Area.
