The Uintah Unit will store <br />the high flows of the Uinta and <br />Whiterocks Rivers for the irriga. <br />tion of Indian and non-Indian <br />land, for municipal and industrial <br />use, for recreation, and for fish <br />and wildlife purposes. Flood con. <br />trol will also be improved. Star. <br />age regulation will be provided <br />in the 47,000 acre-foot capacity <br />Uinta Reservoiron the Uinta Riv- <br />er and in the 32,000 acre. foot <br />capacity Whiterocks Reservoir on <br />Whiterocks River. Irrigation sup- <br />plies will be released from both <br />reservoirs into the stream chan. <br />nels below and then distributed <br />through existing and new canal <br />systems. About 1,000 acre.feet <br />of municipal and industrial water <br />will be made available from pro. <br />ject storage for use in the vicinity <br />of Roosevelt.
