<br />In <br />- <br />C'J <br /> <br />(c) The Lone Cone Ditch Company, which operates a system similar <br /> <br />to (n) above and collects runoff from the southwest flank of Lone <br /> <br />Cone Mountain. The system irrigates land south of Norwood and in <br /> <br />the same vicinity as the land irrigated under (b) above. Lone <br /> <br />Cone reservoir is operated in conjunction with this system. <br /> <br />(d) The Li1y1ands system supplies water to East Lilylands and to <br /> <br />the East end of Dry Creek Basin. The runoff for this system is <br /> <br />collected from the West flank of Lone Cone Mountain. Li1ylands <br /> <br />reservoir is operated in conjunction with this system. <br /> <br />The East Paradox Valley has no water development at present. <br /> <br />Problem <br /> <br />Under present operating conditions, almost none of the land <br /> <br />presently irrigated has an adequate water supply. Shortages do <br /> <br />occur in the latter part of the irrigation seaSon because storage <br /> <br />capacity in the system is not large enough to cover all of the <br /> <br />season's water requirements. Decreased crop yields, limitations <br /> <br />on the types of crops and large areas of potentially irrigable <br /> <br />underdeveloped land is the result of late season water shortages. <br /> <br />Feasibility Study <br /> <br />In January, 1984, the San Miguel Water Conservancy District <br /> <br />(SMWCD) applied to the Board for financial assistance to have a <br /> <br />-2- <br />
