Water Year 1994

PROJECTED RELEASES 1994

Since the mean annual inflow of 1,480 million cubic meters
(1,200,000 acre-feet) far exceeds the storage capacity of 426
million cubic meters (345,000 acre-feet), significant
powerplant bypasses are expected under the most probable
and maximum probable inflow scenarios. Additionally, there
is little chance that the reservoir will not fill during water
year 1994. In order to minimize spring high releases and to
maximize downstream fishery resources and power
production, the reservoir will probably be drawn down to the
minimum pool elevation of 1970 meters (6464 feet) by the
end of March 1994. This corresponds to 115 million cubic
meters (93,000 acre-feet) of live storage.

IIIILLIOII CUlNC IIErDI
100

~P lOB IN "'11I )lIT PRO -<- PRO IIIJ IX
/ .
\
/ .
l.--' \. ~
'/ 1
V r-.... ........

TltOlIUIID ACII!-II'HI'
"I

100

...

400

"'

-

.,

100

12

100

. .
#-If# )~~;-,./'; ~,~

To meet the above stated operational objectives, a constant
release of approximately 25.5 to 39.6 cubic meters per
second (900 to 1,400 cubic feet per second) will be made
through the fall and winter months. Releases at this level
will provide an appropriate level of reservoir drawdown for
the 1994 runoff season, while ensuring that downstream
water rights and municipal and industrial needs are met.
Under all but the most adverse inflow assumption, the
reservoir is expected to fill in the summer of 1994.

PROJECTEDINFUOVV1994

1l1LU0II ~c Ift'IBI:I
100

700

!'>p os "'IN "'11I -<-~"1I4X
I \
1/ \
'j \
I / '- ,\
'/", 1
./ r-...
