Cross Mountain Unit. Foundation drilling on Cross Hountain
Damsite was complete. Testing of construction materials for this
site was continued.'

Gunnison Division, Colorado

Curecanti Unit. Testing of samples of eonstruction mat~rials
for Blue Mesa Dam site was continued.

Austin Unit. The drill was moved from Cros'S M01,1ntain Dam site
on the Yampa Rh"er to t.he Austin Dam site on the Gurmison R1:ter and
operations were started.

The level line tie-in ~etween a U.S.C. & G.S. bench mark and
t.he Bureau of Ftec.lamation brass caps set last May in the vidnity
of Rainbow Bridge was completed. P0wer operation studies for maxi-
mum firm power production using a 30,000,000 a.f. reservoir under
present modified flow3 with and without Echo Park regulation were
completed. A study using ultirr,ate flows with system regulation and
the same reservoir capacity was initiated.

Yampa River Project, Colorado-Utah-Wyoming

Little Snake Division, Colorado-Wyoming

The topographic rrapping of Savp.ry Dan sitp. was started,ann
tail water surveys belOl.' Savery Dam site were completed. The col-
l.ecticr, of design data required for preliminary designs on the
dams was started and preliminary designs and estimates on the Dolan
Mesa Canal were completed by the area office except for two small
chutes and the lateral sJ'stem.

Materials explorations for Savery Dam site were completed.
Geologic studies are co~plete except for the testing of materials
and writ-ing the appendix.

Collection of records, water requirement, water supply,
and _ter rights studies were carried on with studies on Savery
Creek being given part.icular at.tention. Preliminary spillway
design flood studies on Savery and Slater Creeks were resumed
in the area office. Development and settlement, present. economy
and anticipated economy studies were resumed,
