Analysis ~ Annual ~

The simplest ana~Bis which can be made relating to any stream flow is a summary

.

of annual quantities in acre-feet and with simple assumptions relating to the operation

of the stream. Such an ana~sis has been made for the Blue River with the assumption

that diversions by Denver and Colorado Springs would take the entire flow of the Blue

and its tributaries at Dillon. A second assumption is made that useable Green Mountain

storage capacity, at spillway level, is 146,900 acre-feet. The'~ollowing tabulation

shows the ana~s1s on an annual basis from 1938 to 1951 inclusive.
The above tabulation indicates that the inflows to Green Mountain Reservoir

averaged 139,680 acre-feet during the study period and further shows that an average
of 19,620 acre-feet would have spilled during the same period. Thus, the average

annual flow at Green Mountain Reservoir, assuming complete depletion of the river at

Dillon, would have amounted to 159,300 acre-feet.
