001101

.

.

Englewood would not be prejudicial to the interest "of the District since the Englewood

decrees pre-date Green Mountain Reservoir. If, however, the results of the daily

L

analysis by Mr. Tipton indicate a greater effect than the foregoing estimate, it might
be desirable for the District to negotiate with the City of Englewood for some further

.

operating stipulation covering the minor influence on Green Mountain Reservoir replace-

ment releases.

CONCLUSIONS

The following conclusions are made from the results of analyses and from study of the

settlement offers of Denver, Colorado Springs and Englewood:--

1. Analysis of historical annual flows of the Blue River shows that, ,lith all

flows above Dillon being completely diverted, sufficient water accrues to

the River below Dillon to normally fill Green Mountain Reservoir.

~

2. Analysis of historical month~ flows of the Blue River, together with

.
~

assumed full operation of Colorado-Big Thompson diversions and assumed

diversions by Denver to the extent of her direct 788 cfs decree, shows

the average annual water SU?p~ available at Green Mountain Reservoir to

be in excess of 224,000 acre-feet.

3. Analysis of daily flows and daily operations during the two low water

years of 1940 and 1954 shows:--

(1) Replacement requirements from Green Mountain Reservoir

of less than 35,000 acre-feet annually, including both
the fulfillment of Shoshone and Cameo (head of Grand

Valley) demands.

(2) Diversions above Dillon by Denver and Colorado Springs

are controlled by the operation of the Shoshone decree

L

and can be made without diminishing the District's ability

,

to store in and make required replacements from Green
Mountain Reservoir.

-13-
