His responsibilities include preparation of project layout studies, <br />field investigation programs, design criteria, hydraulic and structural design, specit1cations, construc- <br />tion drawings, cost estimates, construction schedules and reports. He is also in charge of establishing <br />and supervising construction inspection activities for such projects as tailings disposal, water storage <br />facilities for municipal and industrial water supply, hydroelectric power generation, recreation, <br />irrigation and flood control, water conveyance systems and urban drainage improvement projects. <br /> <br />. ;, <br /> <br />At Dames & Moore, Mr. Tczap is manager of the water resources design group located in the <br />finn's Denver office. As design manager he is responsible for supervising the activities and reviewing <br />all work perfonned by the group. <br /> <br />;.; <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />He also functions as project manager and is presently managing a tailings disposal project to <br />be constructed at a mine in the Rocky Mountain Region. This project consists of a 2SD-foot-high <br />conventionally constructed embankment dam to create a tailings storage reservoir, a perimeter canal <br />to control surface runoff, a slurry pumping station, a 3.5-mile slurry pipeline, and a decant barge <br />with return pipeline. In addition he has served as project manager on a river diversion scheme. This <br />project consisted of a 10D-foot-high embankment dam, gated outlet conduit, unlined emergency <br />spillway and a 13-foot diameter hard rock tunnel. <br /> <br />."<'; <br /> <br />Prior to joining Dames & Moore, Mr. Tczap was employed by Engineering Consultants, Inc. <br />of Denver, as Chief Civil Engineer. In that capacity he was responsible for the quality control of all <br />technical work perfonned by the civil engineering department. He functioned as project manager on <br />several multipurpose water resource projects. Typical of these is the Upper Pampanga River project <br />in the Philippines which consists of an embankment dam, combination gated and overflow chute <br />spillway, diversion tunnels, irrigation outlet works, power tunnels, 10D-megawatl powerhouse, <br />switchyard and electrical transmission line. As project manager he supervised a multidisciplinary <br />design team which prepared contract documents and fmal designs for the project and also provided <br />supervision of construction for the client. <br /> <br />Prior to his experience with Engineering Consultants, Inc" he was employed by Harza <br />Engineering Company in Chicago. He initially worked as a group leader in the Civil Division where <br />he supervised engineers and draftsmen in preparing designs and construction drawings for a variety <br />of hydraulic structures including tunnels, penstocks, intake structures, outlet works, canals, spill- <br />ways and hydroelectric powerhouses, . <br /> <br />4.77 <br />
