He will review the seismic design <br /> <br /> <br />criteria established for the project in light of the seismicity <br /> <br /> <br />of the project area. .Dr. Donovan will also briefly review the <br /> <br /> <br />manner in which seismic forces uere applied in the design. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Principal Investigator - Seepage. Dr. Charles W. Newlin will <br /> <br /> <br />function as Principal Investigator for seepage studies. <br /> <br /> <br />Dr. Newlin has gained extensive experience in investigating <br /> <br /> <br />seepage in earth structures during his teaching, research and <br /> <br /> <br />engineering career. He has participated in the investigation and <br /> <br /> <br />design of over 20 dams in his career. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Review Board. As stated previously, we plan to utilize <br />internationally renowned consul tants to lend direction and <br />review to our efforts. The utilization of these individuals <br />does not add appreciably to the project cost but will add <br />immeasurable credence to the results. The two consultants we <br /> <br />propose to use, Mr. Leps and Mr. Cedergren, are presently <br /> <br /> <br />collaborating on projects and have worked together in the past. <br /> <br />General Revicw. Mr. Thomas M. Leps will provide <br /> <br /> <br />general review to the project. Mr. Leps has 41 years of <br /> <br /> <br />Wide-ranging experience in soil mechanics, foundations and <br /> <br />dam design. Mr. Leps has published over 25 technical papers <br /> <br /> <br />and contributed to one texthook on the subject of earth dam <br /> <br /> <br />design. Most recently, Mr. Leps was a member of the Teton <br /> <br /> <br />Dam Independent Review Panel. Hr. Leps has been contacted <br /> <br /> <br />and has agreed to participate on this project with Dames & Hoore. <br /> <br />;/' <br />
