Natural flows of the Colorado River
would be used for power generation. Project effects in other fields
have not been evaluated.

.

11ater for the SharrRrd Park area, consistin" of water released from
Ruedi Reservoir, would be pumped from the Colorado River at a point
about 6 miles d~<nstream fro~ Rifle, Colo. Three pumps in series
would deliver water to successively higher sections of the Sharrard
Park Pump Canal or its laterals from which the water would be dis-
tributed to the land.

R~servoir water for irrigation in the Roan Creek area and n2tural
flows for power production would be diverted from the Colorado
_ River at the Una Diversion De~ located about 4 miles downstream
from Grand'Valley, Colo~-'rEe' Una !'ower canarvouhth,,~,l ~.L Lhe--------
dam and extend south 4.4 miles to the Una Powerplant. The river
water would be released throul"h the po';erplant and '..rould return to
the river. The reservoir water would flow from the terminus of
the Una P~ler Canal to the Una Pump Canal. A lift of about 1,25
feet would be provided about 3.8 miles alonl" the course of the pump
canal by the Una Pumping Plant. Farther alon~ the canal and near
its terminus on Roan Creek the !.:t. Logan Reservoir would be COn-
structed. Water would be pum~ed for irri~ation and for storape
during hours of off-peak power de~p.nd. Irrif.ation needs during
daily perioisof peak power demands would be met by releases from
Mt. Logan Reservoir. Irrifetion water delivered to Roan Creek would
be used on lower lands served from the creek and in exchanRe part
of the Roan Creek water now used on the lower lands would be used
on higher lands along the creek and its tributaries.

.

The Sharrard Park and Una Pumpin~ Plants would utilize part of the
power venerated at the Una Pow~rplant. The remainiDf power
would be delivered to transmission lines of the Colorado River
Storafe project near Rifle for commercial sale.

5
