The Forum has also provided for public involve-
ment in the standards review process.
The Forum, as part of the 1978 revision process, held
two public meetings to receive comments on the "1978
Revision - Water Quality Standards for Salinity Including
Numeric Criteria and Plan of Implementation for Salinity
Control, Colorado River System". As a result of the public
input, the Forum prepared a supplement to the August 1978
report which summarized and analyzed the comments received

and made modifications in the report based on the comments.

As each of the Basin states proceeded with its adop-

tion process, one or more statewide public hearings were

held.

There was widespread announcement of the Forum

and state hearings and a large number of copies of the
proposed standards revision were mailed to interested

agencies and groups.

-40-
