The Forum <br />approved the final baseline value report on September II, <br />,1980, and copies were sent to the respective regional <br />offices of EPA on September 30, 1980. <br />Polic for Use of Brackish <br />an ,or lne aters or <br />In ustrial urposes <br />The 1978 Revision of the Water Quality Standards for <br />Salinity states "The plan also contemplates the use of <br />saline water for industrial purposes whenever practicable <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />In recognition of this concept and to further <br /> <br />. . . <br /> <br />extend the Forum's basic salinity policy, the Forum, at <br /> <br /> <br />its September II, 1980 meeting, adopted a policy statement <br /> <br /> <br />entitled "Policy for Use of Brackish and/or Saline Waters <br /> <br />for Industrial Purposes". <br /> <br />The statement encourages and <br /> <br />promotes the use of brackish and/or saline waters for <br />industrial purposes.
