The

anticipated annual use figure for the reservoir is estima ted to be 2,500

visi tor days.

The site selected for development of recreation facilities is

located on the first bay above the dam on the south side of the impoundment.

(Refor to attaohed map) This site was selected for the followiP€ reasons:

1. Topography is less rugged than most of the land adjoining the

lower reaches of the impoundment, the slope being gentle enough to permit

.'"

construction of a boat ramp that would allow oonvenient and safe launching

and landing of small water ora ft.

2.. The site would be readily aocessible. The Bureau of

Reclamat:ion proposes to build a road from the dam along the south side

of the reservoir to furnish accoss to private holdings that will be cut

off by the impoundment. Access to the proposed picnicking, camping, and

boating facilities could be economically made from this road.

3. Tho site has suffic:ient tree COV0r to bo of immediate

benefi.t to the development both from an aesthetic point of view and from

a function standpoint for use and enjoyment of the area.

4
