<br />Judge Flannery, on October 3, 1979, granted the <br /> <br />defendant's motion for summary judgment on all six counts and <br /> <br /> <br />denied the plaintiff's motion. The suit dismissed all six <br /> <br />o <br />~ <br />W <br />1-' <br /> <br />claims brought by plaintiff, EDF. <br />On November 28, 1979, EDF filed notice of appeal of the <br /> <br />District Court decision. The Court of Appeals rendered its <br />decision on April 21, 1981. <br />On June 10, 1981, the Court of Appeals denied EDF's <br /> <br />request for rehearing of their suit against EPA et al., on <br />the Colorado River salinity standards. On September 10, <br />1981, the Appellate Court decision became final. EDF did not <br />request a hearing by the U.S. Supreme Court. <br /> <br />Amendments to P.L. 93-320 <br /> <br />Throughout 1981, the Forum was engaged in detailed <br /> <br />discussions concerning needed amendments to P.L. 93-320 the <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Act. In October of <br /> <br /> <br />1981, the Forum agreed upon the desired language to accom- <br /> <br /> <br />plish the amendments and instructed the Executive Director to <br /> <br />work for the introduction and passage of legislation that <br /> <br />would accomplish the agreed upon amendments. <br /> <br />On March 15, 1982, S. 2202 was introduced into the 97th <br /> <br />Congress with cosponsorsl:lip from Senator Armstrong of <br /> <br />Colorado, Senator Hayakawa of California, Senator DeConcini <br /> <br />of Ar i zona, Senator Laxal t of Nevada, Sena tor Cannon of <br /> <br />Nevada, Senator Goldwater of Arizona, Senator Wallop of <br /> <br />-41- <br />
