The technical details of the return flow reduction program were <br />developed by the Technical Field Committee in consultation with a Farmers <br />Advisory Group of local water users in the .District. The TFC is charged <br />with the responsibility for coordinating, monitor.ing, and evaluating the <br />effectiveness of the recommended program during the implementation phase; <br /> <br />In this report, data on water use, crops, and yields were used to determine <br />onfarm irrigation efficiencies for 1970, 1971, and 1972. The average irri- <br />gation efficiency District-wide was about 56 percent. About 214,000 acre- <br />feet annually of drainage return flow is associated with 56 percent irriga- <br />tion efficiency. <br /> <br />23 <br />
