The apparent low bid for this road construction was sub- <br /> <br />mitted by H-E Lowdermilk Company, Englewood, Colorado, in the amount of $936,269. <br /> <br />This contract has not yet been awarded. <br /> <br />On the SI L T PROJECT, general progress was accelerated during March. The <br /> <br />Rifle Gap Dam contractor's efforts have been concentrated On cutoff trench excava- <br /> <br />tion and highwoy construction. State Highway 325 and a county road will be relocated <br /> <br />to take traffic out of the construction area at the bottom of the gap. The State high- <br /> <br />way will cross the crest of the dam. The tunnel subcontractor holed through the <br /> <br />diversion tunnel and the Davie Ditch outlet tunnel during the latter part of March. <br /> <br />The contractor plans to start placing earth in the dam embankment about mid-April. <br /> <br />Award of contract has been made for construction of the Silt Pump Canal which <br /> <br />wi" convey irrigation water to lands on the lower portion of Harvey Mesa, with work <br /> <br />scheduled to begin immediately. Bids were opened on April 6 for reconstruction of <br /> <br />about 6 miles of the existing Davie Ditch, to provide a full water supply for project <br /> <br />lands on Davie Mesa. Low bid submitted was in the amount of $308,000; award of <br /> <br />contract is pending. <br /> <br />2 <br />
