However, with warming temperatures we anticipate that full scale apera- <br /> <br />tions wi" soon be underway. <br /> <br />At GLEN CANYON DAM the completion contractor is making good progress <br /> <br />with about 89 percent of the work completed. Four of the eight generating units in <br /> <br />the powerplant are now completed and producing commercial power. Unit 5 is <br /> <br />scheduled to go on the line in May. <br /> <br />The F laming Gorge powerplant has been operated at full capacity this winter <br /> <br />to selVe Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado customers with firm power. <br /> <br />During the reporting period, the contractor For Blue Mesa Dam, CURECANTI <br /> <br />UNIT, has continued excavation for the river channel improvement and has accom- <br /> <br />plished minor mechanical installations. It is expected that concrete and earthwork <br /> <br />operations will be resumed during April. Clearing operations in the Blue Mesa Reser- <br /> <br />voir area are going ahead. <br /> <br />At the Morrow Point damsite, excavation has been completed in the switch- <br /> <br />- -I <br />yard area and the powerplant access tunnel. Open-cut excavation for the powerplant, I <br /> <br />including the tai I races, and the keyways for the dam continued during February and <br /> <br />March, and the contractor has begun to excavate the powerplant chamber.
