OJOJ33

. 2.3 STREAM GAGES

Sierra/Misco offers a variety of devices to measure water levels. Local
stream conditions often dictate which sensor is best for a given job.
For the Pike's Peak Regional Early Flood Warning System, Sierra/Misco
proposes to use pressure transducer sensors for the required stream gage
sites. The pressure transducer meets the 15 ft. measurement range
requirement. It is resistant to freezing conditions and it is easy to
install.

The proposed stream gage, 5090 Packaged Pressure Transducer, consists of'

5050LL--PT
5050
5090SA
5050ANT

Pressure Transducer
Transmitter
Standpipe assembly
Omni Antenna with cables

and connectors

MODEL 5050LL. PT PRESSURE TRANSDUCER: The 5050LL--PT is placed in the stream
below the water surface. As the water levels change. corresponding water
pressure changes are sensed by a differential electronic pressure
transducer. Water levels are measured to within 1% accuracy over the
measured range. Barometric pressure and temperature effects are
automatically compensated for by the 5050LL"PT.

.

The pressure transducer produces a 0 to 5 VDC analog output for the
calibrated measurement range. This analog voltage is converted to a
digital number between 0 and 255 for transmission by the 5050 transmitter.

Specifications
0-30 ft, 0-17 ft, or 0-2.3 ft.
l' of range
0-5 VDC (analog)
12 VDC, 10 microamperes
PVC electronics and sensor housing
Carflex Tubing
Temperature Range: -40 to 80 deg C

5050LL--PT
Range:
Sensitivity:
Electrical Output:
Power:
Materials:

5050 TRANSMITTER: State"of--the-art CMOS components are used in the
microprocessor-based 5050 transmitter. Very low power requirements permit
annual operation using a single 9.5 amp-hour battery.

Sierra/Misco reliability is especially evident in the 5050 transmitter. The
latest reliability statistics for the 5050 indicate that the mean-time-
between-'failures rate is in excess of 25 years.

Each transmitter has the maximum capacity to accommodate 16 analog sensors
and 4 digital sensors. For the 5090 Packaged Pressure Transducer. the 5050
transmitter is configured with two digital input channels and one analog
channel.

.

Messages can be transmitted to the base station at pre-selected timed
intervals or in 'event' mode. Digital channels are always transmitted in
