'-'
\' -~'}
(...:>
CJl
t-
o

\

In some cases an assumption appears to
have been made that a specific
consumptive use is exactly the same
over the period addressed by a Uses
and Losses Report, An example of such
an assumption can be seen on Graph UB-
1 and the chart for non-CRSP reservoir
evaporation in the Green River Basin
in Colorado (Figure 4). For the years
1981 through 1985, the evaporation is
assumed to be 6,500 acre-feet per
year. There is no allowance for
variation, of evaporation from year to
year as there was in the previous uses
and losses reports,

A similar assumption appears to be
made in cases where consumptive uses
are assumed to change linearly. An
example of this can be seen on Graph
UB-14, municipal and industrial
(mining) in the Green River Basin in
Wyoming (Figure 5), Each of the 5
year periods which make up one Uses
and Losses Report can be defined by a
linear relationship, The last linear
relationship can be defined between
the 1980 and 1985. During this period
annual consumptive uses dropped from
19,000 acre-feet to 6,200 acre-feet.
It may be difficult to obtain accurate
records of municipal and industrial
uses; however, the reason for this
relationship should be explained by
the Bureau of Reclamation,

Coounents

RESERVOIR EVAPORATION
COLORADO - Green River

': (000 ,",.-F..d

6~. -11-1-lliillll
'!II-_IIII 1-1.1111
.i. ......... ...1
.:.......... · ..1
...... . .,
u
71 72 73 74 76 78 77 78 79 80 81 82 83 84 85
Water Year

Figure 4

MUNICIPAL AND INDUSTRIAL - MINERAL
WYOMING - Green River (Total)

(1,000 Arore-Felfll)
201
'.i ._1111111.
1011111.1. 1111-
i.. ...IIIUDI. .1-
orll II.
