002915

Lower Queen Creek Watershed

The draft plan and EIS were submitted to the WISC for review
and comment in April 1979. However, coordination of the Bureau
of Reclamation Central Arizona Project (CAP) construction schedule
and the SCS construction schedule was not practical. Therefore,
the local sponsoring organizations have requested the SCS to stop
planning on this project and the BOR to build a s~milar structure
to the SCS structure as part of the CAP.

St. David Watershed

About 85% aerial mapping and survey work is complete. Right-of-
entry permits necessary to let contracts for geology, archeology,
and engineering surveys have been obtained on about 150 properties
in the project area. Some work has been completed on the environ-
mental assessment.

Dos Cabezas Watershed

The contractor is about 75% complete on the aerial mapping and
survey work. A course of action has been developed to obtain
needed right-of-entry permits for this watershed.

Payson Watershed

A field reconnaissance report has been completed and presented
to watershed sponsors. Results indicated a negative benefit-cost
ratio. However, project sponsors are using the report to obtain
other possible sources of funding to implement the structural
and nonstructural program outlined in the report.

CALIFORNIA: Frazier-Strathmore Watershed (Tulare County)

Planning was stopped because of insufficient local interest.

Tehachapi Watershed (Kern County)

Revisions to the plan and incremental analyses were completed.
The plan and EIS were readied for interagency review. Distribution
is scheduled for July 1979.

Willow Slough Watershed (Yolo County)

Further studies are being made on the Chickahomirty-Moody Slough
portion of the watershed. A notice of resumption of studies was
distributed to various agencies. A study plan and schedule are
being prepared.

C-19
