Working papers <br />on Fish and Wildlife. M& I Water Supply and Rural Domestic <br />and Livestock Water Supply are in draft stage. <br /> <br />Assistance was provided in Grant and Catron Counties under <br />Section .216. Emergency Watershed Protection. <br /> <br />Green River Basin <br /> <br />The printing of the main report for the USDA Green River Basin <br />Cooperative Study has been completed. Copies of the report <br />have been distributed to State and Federal agendes, environmenta._ <br />groups, local organizations, and interested individuals. Meeting~ <br />have been held in the Basin to discuss the findings of the study. <br /> <br />Bia Sandy Salinity StudY <br /> <br />Work on the Big Sandy Salinity Study has centered around the <br />formulation and presentation of alternative plans for reduction <br />of salinity to the Colorado River System. Alternatives <br />proposed have ranged from the installation of on-farm measures <br />to improve irrigation efficiencies to possible irrigation retire- <br />ment and/or total buyout of the area. All of the alernatives <br />have been discussed with the local-coordinat1ng committee and <br />with State and Federal agencies. Two public meetings have been <br />held with a decision made to develop a composite alternative <br />showing the results of the coord1nating committee's questionnaire <br />of local desires. The SCS is presently preparing a draft report <br />that will display all alternatives considered. <br /> <br />WATERSHED PLANNING <br /> <br />Cottonwood Wash Watershed <br /> <br />The Navajo County Parks and Recreat:l.on Staff is collecUng some <br />basic data necessary to make evaluations of recreation supply <br />and demand in the project areas. The Silver Creek Flood Control <br />District is working with the Navajo County Boa~d of Supervisors <br />to obta1n a stronger statement of sponsorship for recreation <br />storage 1n the reservoir. <br /> <br />c.,.18 <br />
