will be concise statements of the proceedings, our opinions and

recommendations as to items that should be discussed in the meet-

ings.

e. Study Foundation Geology

The foundation geology will be studied in detail by our

geologist during late July and August to ascertain the strength

parameters of the foundation materials as they relate to the design

of the embankment and to seepage.

f. Review Site Investigations and Test Data

A major part of the consultant's review will pertain to seep-

age through the right abutment and the adequacy of the proposed

slurry trench cutoff. Our recent inspection of the site and the

brief revie~ of investigations reveal the great magnitude of in-

vestigations that have been carried out by the USBR to date at the

site. All this information on the foundation, seepage and con-

struction materials will be studied in detail to permit a technical

assessment on the adequacy of the designs as proposed by the USBR.

g. Seepage Analysis

After the detailed review of the geological aspects of the

project site and the evaluation of the field permeability tests,

permeability rates will be established for the dam foundation and

abutments. With these values and the proposed seepage control

measures, water losses through the foundation and around the end of

the slurry trench will be determined. Seepage pressures will also

be determined in locations critical to the safety of the embankment

and its appurtenant structures.

The seepage analysis for the embankment as prepared by the

USBR will be checked for compliance with laboratory test results

regarding the permeability values of the fill materials.
