The primary use is a combination of ranching operation with ditch,

well or sub-irrigated meadow and hay land and dry pasture land. With the excep-

tion of a few farms in the westerly end of the reservoir area very few row crops

are grown.

. Generally speaking, good farming practices are followed. Improvements,

for the most part, appear to be well maintained. In common with most agri-

cultural cpmmunities in this area the trend is toward much larger operating units.

This has resulted in the abandonment of a number of sets of farm improvements.

Two townsites lie within the proposed taking. These are Hardin and Kuner,

Neither of these townsites are served by municipal water or sewer systems.

Their development has been limited to a few residential properties and some

school improvements. Much of the platted land in both instances has been used

for agricultural purposes.

Our investigation indicates that, up to the present date, there has been no

known commercial oil and gas production, Two dry holes have been drilled

within the area of the proposed fee taking.

Services

Electric light and power services are available to the entire area.

The Union Pacific Railroad, with a single line track, lies within this

proposed reservoir site.
