DESCRIPTION OF AREAS WELD COUNTY SITE Location The proposed Weld County Dam site is situated approximately 18-1/2 miles east and south of Greeley. Colorado. Roggen. Colorado is approximately 8 miles to the south. The fee taking for the reservoir extends westward to a point opposite the Town of Kersey. Colorado. Kersey lies approximately 8 miles east of Greeley. The flood easement area extends westward approximately 2 additional miles to a point approximately 1/8 of a mile east of the confluence of the Cache Le Poudre and South Platte Rivers. The propo~ed Weld County Dam site is situated approximately 24 airline miles west of the proposed Narrows Dam site. The distance between the Weld County Dam site and the westerly extension of the proposed Narrows Reservoir (flood easement) is approximately 10 miles. The proposed dam site lies in Range 62 West. Townships 4 and 5 North. Weld County. The proposed reservoir, along the bed of the South Platte River, extends from Range 62 West through Range 64 West in Townships 4 and 5 North. The entire dam and reservoir site lies in Weld County. The overall length of the proposed taking in fee for the dam and reservoir is approximately 13 airline miles. Including the flood easement the overall length is approximately 15 miles. The maximum width of the taking (at a point approxi- \ mately 1 mile westerly of the dam site) is approximately 7 miles.
