<br />Wyoming <br /> <br /> <br />Ten permits were reissued and four permits became <br /> <br /> <br />inactive during the period since the release of the 1987 <br /> <br />o <br />CJ1 <br />N <br />-.J <br /> <br />Review. All permits comply with Forum policy. Wyoming <br />continued to update its water quality management planning in <br />accordance with its approved Continuing Planning Process. <br /> <br />Forum Activities <br /> <br />Public Involvement and Participation <br /> <br />An awareness of salinity sources, impacts, and <br /> <br />alternative methods of control are required if the <br /> <br />implementation of the salinity control program is to <br /> <br />progress. In conjunction with the Forum, the seven Basin <br /> <br />states continue to work to increase the public's <br /> <br />understanding of Colorado River salinity. <br />Progress Report is a part of that effort. <br />During the period covered by this report, each of the <br /> <br />This Annual <br /> <br />Basin states held public hearings as part of the states' <br /> <br />adoption process of the 1987 Review. <br /> <br />All Forum meetings except executive sessions are open to <br /> <br />the public. The Forum's Executive Di rector also contr i butes <br />to the public's understanding through meetings, public <br /> <br />appearances, and speeches. <br /> <br />The Basin states assist the federal agencies in their <br /> <br />ongoing public involvement process. <br /> <br />Reclamation in <br /> <br />cooperation with the Forum, produces a newsletter entitled <br /> <br />"Salinity Update" which is used by the Forum and the Basin <br /> <br />-23- <br /> <br />), <br />
