USDA's McElmo <br /> <br />Project draft EIS was distributed for comment in May 1988. <br /> <br />SCS is presently addressing the comments received, and a <br /> <br />final EIS is scheduled to be published in FY 89. <br /> <br />Implementation of the USDA program is scheduled to begin in <br /> <br />1990. <br /> <br />Moapa Valley Unit - During the fiscal year, coordination <br /> <br /> <br />activities were initiated with interested agencies and local <br /> <br />land users. A monitoring and evaluation plan was prepared <br /> <br />and $46,500 was provided to initiate implementation of the <br /> <br />monitoring program. <br /> <br />Extension Service-Information and Education - The <br /> <br />Extension Service is responsible for development and <br /> <br />coordination of information and education program.
