The meetingi was chaired by 1V. R. Christensen in the absence of
Chairman We~ster Otis.

Mr. Edward ,Cook of the Water Resources Council reported on activities
of the Wate~ Resources Couneil, covering the recent National Conference
on Water, tre National Planning Strategy, Section 80 Study, \~ater for
Energy Self,-Sufficiency, National Assessment, and other subj ects.

Semiannual:reports were highlighted. California reported the State's
25-year pl~n on water management would be completed about June 1977.

Mr. VernonjValantine of the Colorado River Board of California pre-
sented a p~ogress report on the San Diego Gas & Electric Company
plans for '!Sundesert Nuclear Plant" to be located near Blythe, California.

Mr. RobertiFarrer of the Arizona Water Commission reported on Arizona's
Water Proj~ct Activities.

A report 01 southern Nevada water supply and water quality problems was
presented qy Mr. Theodore ~hitmoyer Ot the Division of Colorado River
Resources, iLas Vegas, Nevada.

Progress r~ports were received on the National Assessment.

Mr. Al Krous, Chairman of the Water Management Technical Subcommittee,
summarizedlhis committee's activities. The possibility of a task force
to prepare I a report on the application of stochastic methods to evaluate
water reso\1rces is being considered for FY 1976.

Mr. Lyle Kfubben, Chairman of the Vegetation Management Subcommittee,
reported tj,e pro!\ress on FY 1975 work items. One of their 1976 work
items will:!be to continue to assist the Water Management Subcommittee
in prepararion of a State of the Art report on weather modification.

Mr. Warrenl J. Cole, chairman of the Executive Subcommittee (replacing
Mr. Wayne racRostie who transferred to another assignment), reported
that four of the seven identified work items in its report "Program
Needs Conc~rning Water Supply of the Colorado River" were recommended
for furthe~ action:

(1) Assignment to the Consortium of Hater Institutes and Centers (CWIC)
to examine: the potential adverse effects on existing economies of the
transfer o;f water from present agricultural uses to energy development
or other ~se, and means of alleviating these effects. Each State was
asked to s'ubmi t a report for consideration to be given to CHIC for
evaluatio~.
