<br />11 <br /> <br /> <br />0015J3 <br /> <br />(2) A letter was approved by the PSIAC to the Soil Conservation <br />Service requesting they prepare a report on the most probable increase <br />of runoff of the Colorado River that could be accomplished by watershed <br />management through phreatophyte control and hrushland conversion. <br /> <br />(3) Recommendation that stems from the task force report is that PSIAC <br />maintain surveillance and a review of the Department of the Interior's <br />biennial report on Colorado River Water Use and Depletions pursuant to <br />P.L. 93-537; and if appropriate, to assist in reconciling any differences <br />that might be apparent. <br /> <br />(4) The PSIAC approved a letter to four agencies supporting a joint <br />study of a supplemental water supply for Nevada. <br /> <br />PSIAC approved the Work Program for FY 1976. <br /> <br />A resolution was adopted by PSIAC to be sent to the U.S. Water Resources <br />Council to the effect that PSIAC be given responsibilities and assistance <br />for implementing the National Planning Strategy in the regions of the <br />Pacific Southwest equivalent to those granted River Basin Commissions. <br /> <br />Mr. Warren Cole was commended for his efforts in acting for Mr. Wayne <br />MacRostie, former chairman of the Executive Subcommittee. Mr. Christensen <br />expressed Chairman Otis' sincere thanks to all subcommittee chairmen and <br />members who participated during the year. He also thanked the New <br />Mexico representatives for hosting the meeting; and Mr. Tom Smylie of <br />Fish and Wildlife Service, Albuquerque, for the photographs supplied <br />for this Annual Report. <br /> <br />Mr. Hale of New Mexico moved that we insert in the record of the <br />meeting minutes a resolution in recognition and appreciation of the <br />contributions that W. R. "Wally" Christensen who is retiring has made <br />to PSIAC. <br /> <br />The State of California was elected to serve as Chairman for PSIAC <br />during FY 1976, and Mr. Robin Reynolds, acting for Mr. Ronald B. Robie, <br />Director of the Department of Water Resources, accepted for California. <br /> <br />Mr. Kermit V. Speeg, Corps of Engineers, San Francisco, will serve as <br />Chairman of the Executive Subcommittee for FY 1976. <br /> <br />The next meeting of PSIAC was tentatively set for September 23-24, 1975, <br />in San Francisco, California. <br />
