Ruedi water was available for sale on <br />a year-by-year basis, under terlq:1orary contracts based on present needs, <br />and will CDntinue until long tenn CDntracts are developed and executed. <br />At the end of the water year, four long tem water sales CDntracts, with <br />a total volurre of 7,850 acre-feet, ~re being negotiated with Colony Oil <br />Shale Developrent; Battlement I-Esa, Inc.; West Divide \~ater Conservancy <br />District; and Basalt Water Conservancy District. <br /> <br />Turquoise lake was operated for regulation: of project and n::mproject <br />water on a service basis, as ~ll as for incidental fish and wildlife <br />and recreation purposes. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Pueblo Reservoir was operated for regulation of project and nonproject <br />water on a service basis, as ~ll as for flood CDntrol, fish and wildlife, <br />and recreation purposes. <br /> <br />Twin lakes and Mt. Elbert Forebay (a single puX'pOse storage facility for <br />punped-storage peak power developnent) were operated for regulation of <br />project and ronproject water on a service basis, as well as for the <br />operation of Mt. Ruedi Reservoir <br /> <br />The content of Ruedi Reservo~ on September 30, 1980, was 94,810 acre- , <br />feet. The outflow was 107 ft Is. This re;J.ease rate was maintained with <br />a small loss due to drop in head on the ,e\l8I"VOir until January 10, <br />1981, when the flow was reduced to 77 ft /,s to slow the dra~ rate <br />due to the small snowpack. The, outflow was reduced f= 77 ft3/s to ' <br />44 ft3/s on Februa,ry 7 and. ):'educed again to 25 ft3/s on March 6 due to <br />the lack of srow. In April the outflow was based on inflow to the <br />reservoir. The outflow was set at the min:illnJn bypass requi.):'ement or the <br />inflow, whicheve1:' was leSS. Releases for the Colorado State Departrrent of Highways; <br />Colorado River Water Conservation District; and Battlement Mesa, Inc., <br />were started on August 6.
