San Juan-Chama Water Accounting Albuquerque Area Office September 1996 The natural i nfl ow into Heron Reservoi r duri ng the month of September was computed to be 320 acre-feet (af) as shown in Table 3. There were 970 af net San Juan-Chama (SJ-C) losses. as shown in Table 2. There were 210 af of diversions through Azotea Tunnel this month. There was a total of 380 af of Natural (RG) released from Heron. of which 140 AF was seepage. There was 6600 AF of SJ-C water released from Heron. There was 1.45 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir. which is 86% of the September (running) average of 1.68 inches. The monthly computations for Heron Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3, From El Vado. 18.063 AF was released by Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD) to pay back the City of Albuquerque (City) in Abiquiu for water borrowed for irrigation. Of that total. 11.461 AF was release-from-storage in El Vado. and the remaining 6602 AF was flow-through from MRGCD allocation in Heron, The remaining balance of 198 AF of uncontracted 1996 allocation was transferred from Heron to MRGCD in El Vado. From Abiquiu. a total of 28.811 AF was released; 28.624 AF of which was loaned by the City to MRGCD to meet irrigation demands. The other 187 AF was released from the Santa Fe pool (per letter dated 8/27/96); to offset 181 AF use below Otowi and 6 AF use above Otowi. Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 501 AF. There was no evaporation loss on the reservoir. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez Canyon Reservoirs. and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in Table 6. All data are provision~l.and subject to revision as final data are collected and analyzed.
