<br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />July 1996 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of July was computed to <br />be 1840 acre-feet (af) as shown in Table 3. There were 1370 af net San Juan- <br />Chama (SJ-C) losses. .as shown in Table 2. There were 2620 af of diversions <br />through Azotea Tunnel this month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 1840 af of Natural (RG) released from Heron. of which 150 <br />AF was seepage. There was 19460 AF of SJ-C water released from Heron. ' <br /> <br />There was 2.65 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir. which is 152% of the <br />July (running) average of 1. 74 inches. The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />From El Vado. 25.143 AF was released by Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District <br />(MRGCD) to pay back the City of Albuquerque (City) in Abiquiu for water borrowed <br />for irrigation. A total of 8330 AF inflow of uncontracted 1996 allocation was <br />transferred from Heron to MRGCD in El Va do leaving 3160 AF remaining uncontracted <br />water. A total of 7723 AF inflow of City water was sent to MRGCD in El Vado. <br />Likewise. 1200 AF from DOE. 1000 AF from Espanola. 15 AF from Twining. 400 AF <br />from Taos. 358 AF from Los Lunas. and 432 AF from Belen. allocations in Heron. <br />were received by MRGCD in El Vado. <br /> <br />From Abiquiu. a total of 30.648 AF was released: Of that total. from the City <br />29.508 AF was loaned to MRGCD and 965 AF was sent to Jemez Recreation pool. From <br />the City of Santa Fe. 175 AF was delivered. to offset pumping depletions above <br />and below Otowi as follows: By SEO Letter dated June 27. 1996. a release was made <br />on July 5. of 53 AF (3 AF above Otowi and 50 below): By Letter dated July 8. <br />1996. 61 AF was released July 15 (3 above and 58 below): By Letter dated July <br />23. 1996. 61 AF was released July 30 (3 above and 58 below). A total of 24.302 <br />AF of SJ-C water flowed into Abiquiu as payback of borrowed water by MRGCD. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 631 AF. Evaporation <br />loss on the reservoir was 13 AF. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at <br />Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs. and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and <br />evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in <br />Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as flnal data are red lpct,'rj 1n~ <br />analyzed. <br />
