<br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />June 1996 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of June was computed to <br />be 850 acre-feet (af) as shown in Table 3. There were 2070 af net San Juan-Chama <br />(SJ-C) losses. as shown in Table 2. There were 5820 af of diversions through <br />Azotea Tunnel this month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 1450 af of Natural (RG) released from Heron. of which 140 <br />AF was seepage. There was 7270 AF of SJ-C water released from Heron. <br /> <br />There was 1.46 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir. which is 162% of the <br />June (running) average of 0.90 inches. The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />From El Vado. 13.117 AF was released by Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District <br />(MRGCD) to pay back the City of Albuquerque (The City) in Abiquiu for water <br />borrowed for irrigation. A total of 7271 AF inflow of The City's undeliverable <br />1995 allocation was transferred to MRGCD. <br /> <br />From Abiquiu. a total of 18.454 AF was released: Of that total. from the City <br />(18.401 AF); 17.182 was loaned to MRGCD; 1013 AF was sent to Cochiti recreation <br />pool; and 206 AF was sent to Jemez sediment pool. From the City of Santa Fe. 53 <br />AF was delivered to offset pumping depletions above (3 AF) and below (50 AF) <br />Otowi per State Engineer letter dated June 6. 1996. A total of 12.589 AF of SJ-C <br />water flowed into Abiquiu as payback of borrowed water by MRGCD. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 381 AF. Evaporation <br />loss on the reservoir was 4 AF. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at <br />Otowi . <br /> <br />There were no State Engineer letter-requested releases for contractors. other <br />than the above City of Santa Fe release. made in June. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs. and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and <br />evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in <br />Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
