n/,?')
o ChJ :;l ~,,~,

Uncompahgre Valley Project Information

July 6, 1993
Page 4

L

b. Ridgway Exchange. The purpose of the
Ridgway Exchange is to enable a municipal
water treatment plant called "Project 7" to
take UVP water from the Gunnison Tunnel
in exchange for equal quantities of storage
water in Ridgway Reservoir. This
exchange may include water diverted under
the Tunnel's senior direct-flow water right,
as well as storage water delivered from
Blue Mesa. A number of complex
limitations apply to this exchange and these
are discussed in Info Theme No.8.

4.

Physical Capacities. Although the membership of the UVP is
fixed, and the solution-step behavior of its components is
hard wired, the physical capacities of various parts of this sub-
system are user-modifiable, just as the capacities of existing
reservoirs, decrees and the amounts of demands or acreages can
be set by users to represent alternative planning assumptions.

a. Gunnison Tunnel. Users may specify a
single, fixed capacity. The default will be
1135 CFS.

'i~

b. South Canal. Users may specify a single,
fixed capacity representing the most
restricted section between the Gunnison
Tunnel and the lateral head gate for
Fairview Reservoir. The default value is to
be determined.

c. AB Hydro Hydraulic/Seasonal Capacity.
This facility is discussed separately under
Info Theme No.9. The dialog box by
which its parameters may be specified
should be triggered by an "Edit Power
Generation Parameters" button next to a
check-box or radio-button control in the
UVP top-level dialog box, that indicates
whether the facility is to be included in the
current scenario. The default will be that
the AB Hydropower facility "does not
exist."

i... .l

, -._L~ -~lLi-~~~

,'_~1, ... c"
