<br /> <br />Authorized 0 <br />Control - 15 <br />Oompilation - 6 <br />Publihsed - 54 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARIZONA <br /> <br />Control was obtained for projects'located southeast of <br />Boulder City, northwest of Tucson, and south of Grand <br />Canyon. Approximately 2000 square miles are being <br />mapped in cooperation with the State of Arizona. <br />Stereo-compilation was accomplished on quadrangles <br />located at Parker and Nutrioso. Published quadrangles were predominantly <br />in the Ft. Huachuca area. Other quadrangles published were in the <br />vicinity of Chinle, st. George, Kanab, and Davis Monthan. <br /> <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />A 1,600 square~ile area in the Sacramento-San <br />Joaquin Valley extending from Placerville to Fresno <br />was authorized for work during the period. Control <br />was executed on 45 quadrangles in two projects (one <br />near Merced and the other covering the east side of <br />the San Francisco Bay Area). Quadrangles compiled were mostly in the <br />following places~ Borego State Park, Sequoia National Park, Yosemite <br />National Park, Lassen National Park" Clear Lake, western Contra Costa <br />County, western Alameda County, western Santa Barbara County, and north- <br />western San Luis Obispo County. Qua~rangles published were in the following <br />areas: Lassen National Park, Lake Tahoe, Salinas Valley, and Redding. <br /> <br />The Montezuma, 'Como and Engineer Mountain l5-minute <br />quadrangles were authorized for Series Conversion <br />of the 7i-minute compilation. These will replace <br />the existing 15-minute maps in those areas. 'Control <br />surveys have started on the Leadville, Aspen, Cochetopa, <br />Leon Peak and Hahns Peak projects. Compilation was completed on the five <br />7~-minute quadrangles in the Engineer Mountain Project, and on the two <br />7~-minute quadrangles in the Nucle Project. The Hahns Peak 2 NE quad- <br />rangle was also compiled to meet a Forest Service request.
