The emergency gat.e was erected <br />during the fiscal year. but completion of the installation has been <br />delayed pending delivery of the motor drive. A remote indicating <br />water level recorder provided with an alarm was installed at the <br />north portal of the tunnel. <br /> <br />Water ,slI])])ly st.udies <br /> <br />Compilation of water production data of the constituent areas <br />of the District was continued. a summary being given in table 12. <br />Studies relative to possible annexation of several nonconstituent <br />areas were made in reSp0l15e to requests from civic groups repre- <br />senting water supply interests, The,e areas include the West Basin <br />situated along the coast from Playa del Rey to the Palos Verdes <br />Hills in Lo, Angeles County, the Pomona-San Dimas area in eastern <br />Los Angeles County, thc Chino basin area in the western part of <br />San Bernardino County, the La Crescenta-La Canada area north <br />of Glendale, the Altadena area north of Pasadena, and the cities <br />of Brea and Newport Beach in Orange County, <br /> <br />Right of 1Va,lI <br /> <br />There had been pending a grant to Riverside County of highway <br />easements along 16 miles of roads constructed on District property <br />in the Lake Mathews area, in exchange for relinquishment by the <br />County of easements previou>ly' acquired along alinements not <br />finally utilized in construction of the roads, Deed descriptions <br />prepared previously were amplified to account for additional lands <br />acquired by the District. and descriptions were prepared for quit- <br />claim to the District of the "a,<ements to be relinquished.
