<br />-' <br /> <br />10S'1 <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />and the Directors of Regions 4 and 7 of the Bureau of Reclama.tion and ask <br />them to re-eXPmine the tentative investieations program for Colorado-for <br />the purpose of determining the possibility of reallocation for Fiscal <br />Year 1950 investigation funds to Colorado, calling attention to the urgency <br />and needs for such action, especially for expedition of investigations of <br />the Upper Colorado River Basin above Grand Junction. At the request of <br />the Chairman, the Secretary made copies of this motion available to Regional <br />Director Batson and the representative of Region 4 for delivery to Regional <br />Director Larson for their use in apprising and discussing this matter with <br />the Commissioner at the Regional Director's Conference at Boulder City, <br />Nevada, beginning August 1, 1949. <br /> <br />Status of Revie'tr of the Interim Re ort on the Gunnison-Arkansas Pro ect <br />Item e of A enda <br /> <br />16. In order that the review of the preliminary draft of interim <br />report on the Initial Phase Gunnison-Arkansas Project might be completed <br />at an early date for submission of the State's corrnnents to the Regional <br />Director for use in preparation of the final draft of report, the Chairman <br />requested a status report on the reviews with specific reference to: <br />(a) Water supply, (b) economic phases of feasibility, (c) flood control, <br />(d) po"er production and its relation to econor.'.ic feasibility, (e) relation <br />of imported water to existing water supply, and (f) fish, ,'Iildlife and rec- <br />reation. The results of the discussions of these item~ are surrunarized in <br />the following subparagraphs: <br /> <br />(a) Water suPPly. <br />phase pertaining to water <br />the various interests who <br /> <br />It can be assumed that the portion of this <br />importations is completed s:ince engineers for <br />have studied the matter are in a.greement. <br /> <br />(b) Economic feasibility. The appendix is being revised to reflect <br />corrections in the power studies occasioned by Mr. Riter's questions on <br />project operation and recent action by reSolution of major irrigation <br />interests regarding their regulations and use of Arkansas River waters. <br />The summary statement on economic aspects of the project will also <br />facilitate the review. <br /> <br />(e) Relation of imported water to existing sUDPlv in the Arkansas <br />~. Final decision on this item cannot be made until contractual nego- <br />tiations are under ~Iay after project authorization. <br /> <br />7 <br />
