Powell, Christy, and Hoper,
the prospective demands for municipal water supply from the Gunnison-
Arkansas Project are summarized in the following table. The exact amount
to be secured from the initial phase of development wi 11 depend upon the
judgement of the subscribers 'regarding the availability of water from
later phases of the project.

(Figures are acre-feet per year)

Minimum Probable
Use by Inmediate. The possible sources of water supply from the Gunnison-Arkansas
Project to the City of Colorado Springs were discussed and the project
works needed to deliver such water to Colorado Springs were pointed out to
the committee cn the project map. Basically, the City is to be supplied
from Beaver Creek and Oil Creek wi th water so diverted to be replaced in
the Arkansas Valley by exchange vlith project water. With such exchanges,
it is es,timated that "'ater could be diverted to Colorado Springs as follows
(presented in Grder of costs, with least expensive water tabulated first):

Source of Water
Pumping 150' from Beaver Creek
to present city pipeline

Acre-feet par year

2,700

High elevation diversion from Oil
Creek to Beaver Creek, thence
through existinl!, city pipeline

2,000

Diversion from Beaver Creek below
Skagway Reservoir to new 26"
pipeline to city

10,300

J~. Powell informed the group that there are inadequate records of streamflov,
and present uses to state definitely that the suggested diversion of 2,000
acre-feet from Oil Creek cnn be made, vnthout purchase of existing rights for
use along that creek. Hence, the tota.l quantity divortible by exchange from
the Gunnison-Arkansas Project will ranGe fro," 13,000 to 15,000 acre-feet.

3
