Page to. .review the report on the first <br />stage of the .Gunnison-Arkansas Project. <br /> <br />4. At the last meeting, it was generally understood that the Arkansas <br />Valley members would consider problems incident to uses for municipal aDd <br />other purposes in the Arkansas Valley, while the "estern Colorado members <br />of the committee would consider problems incident to replacement storage in <br />Western Colorado. <br /> <br />Minutes of previous meeting <br /> <br />5. The draft of minutes of the November 24, 1948 meeting was approved <br />and the Secretary was instructed to furnish copies to the Director' of the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board for distribution to mambers of that <br />organization. <br /> <br />Municipal water requirements in Arkansas Valley <br /> <br />6. Mr. Christy informed the committee that since the last Imleting he <br />had met several times vdth representatives of the Valley towns to ascertain <br />their sentiments with respect to securing municipal water needs and their <br />desires to have a Valley pipeline added to the project plan. With. the ex- <br />ception of two communi ties, all towns in the Valley wa.nt the Valley pipe- <br />line included as part of the project plan. The present sources of water <br />supply are ~nerally of undesirable quality and the cities desire to improve <br />the quality of their water supply and to secure a more dependable source of <br />supply. He stated that the City of Pueblo needs additional water supply but <br />has made no commitments as yet. He anticipates that the City will submit a <br />request in the near fUture. 'Mr. Hoper disoussed water needs by the City of <br />Colorado Springs for municipal purposes. <br /> <br />2 <br />
