>,

collection well, pumping station, and force main is $363,000.

Additional operation and maintenance expenses are estimated

at $4,380 annually if relocated Conduit 10 is a 48 inch main.

e. Abandonment of the Bean Wells. Cost of replacing the

waters lost by this abandonment has been based on the cost of

the latest water acquisition and developed project of the

Board, namely the Blue River Project. Replacement water on

this basis would have a value of $210,000 for the Bean Wells.

Operation and maintenance expenses of the Board would be re-

duced an estimated $4,140 annually if the Bean Wells are

abandoned.

f. Replacement of the Plum Creek Pumping Station and Conduit

24 by a new pumping station and conduit of identical capacity

and size below Chatfield Dam. Cost of the new station and

force main is estimated at $389,000. Annual operation and

maintenance expenses of the relocated pumping station could

be $1,560 lower t.han for the present station if the full

head of the conservation pool behind Chatfield Dam is utilized.

If this head is not utilized, operation and maintenance ex-

penses of the new station will be similar to the existing

station.

a. Retention of the Platte Canon Reservoir and Conduit 8

Extension without modification or change.

9. The Board has possible alternatives to the Corps proposal

for several of the individual facilities. These alternatives are:

a. Operation of the Kassler Plant, Last Chance Ditch Pumping

Station, and Platte Canon River flume without protective

works on a "calculated risk" basis; abandonment of Kassler

"

- 6 -
