<br />344~ <br /> <br />The response to submittal requirement #5d, identifies the excess capacity <br />or water supply of the system as a whole. Attachments 2 & 3 show the <br />anticipated rate that supply will diminish. (Concerning capacity and <br />efficiency of the water collection system, see paragraph 5(f). <br />Colorado Springs will upgrade treatment plants to accomodate additional <br />Homestake Phase II water as necessary. The City of Aurora will shortly <br />complete a new water treatment plant that is designed to treat the water <br />developed by Homestake Phase II, and will continue to expand treatment <br />plant capacity as necessary. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Specify Whether Or Not Present Facilities Can Be Upgraded To <br />Adequately Accomodate The Ten Year Projected Increased Need <br />In Treatment And/Or Hydraulic Capacity; <br /> <br />Presumably <br />the Cities <br />supply and <br />on the ten <br /> <br />this question relates to wastewater facilities; however, both <br />of Colorado Springs and Aurora can upgrade present water <br />treatment facilities to adequately accomodate water demands <br />year projected basis. <br /> <br />(7) Environmental Impact Analysis; <br /> <br />(a) Land Use; <br /> <br />(i) Provide A Map Detailing Existing Land Uses Of The Proposed <br />Development And Source Development Area And The Project <br />Service Area Including Peripheral Lands Which May Be <br />Impacted. <br /> <br />(ii) All Immediately Affected Public Land Boundaries Should <br />Be Indicated On The Map. <br /> <br />Attachment 7 contains the Comprehensive Planning Report #2, Zone Map, <br />and Utilities Service Area Map for the City of Colorado Springs. Contained <br />therein are sufficient documentation to meet the requirement for mapping <br />of the development area. (Note: The City's Comprehensive Plan is <br />undergoing significant revision and Comprehensive Plan Report #2 is a <br />basic document in that revision.) Attachment 8 is the Comprehensive <br />Plan for the City of Aurora. Contained therein is also a map detailing <br />the information required. The maps demonstrate the service areas which <br />are almost entirely subject to the municipal jurisdictions of the respective <br />Cities. Aurora's water service area is identical to the corporate boundaries. <br />Attachments 9 and 12 are maps showing the location of the proposed <br />diversion project in the development area. It should be noted that the <br />proposed project is almost entirely within a designated wilderness area. <br />In Attachment 12, all public land boundaries are identified and impacts <br />on those lands are illustrated by the location of the proposed tunnel <br />and diversion sites. <br /> <br />(iii) Specify Whether The Proposed Project Conforms To <br />This County's Planning Policies. <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />~ <br />
